Visiting Canton Fair 2026? How to Find a Clothing Manufacturer Near Guangzhou

A supplier conversation can start with a garment on a rail. Deciding whether that supplier can develop your collection takes more than looking at the finished piece. You need to understand the fabric, the pattern, the sample process and who will make the bulk order.

If you are visiting Guangzhou for the 140th Canton Fair, use the trip to compare those details while reference garments and material questions are still fresh. A separate supplier meeting can help resolve points that remain unclear after an exhibition conversation.

HaoboMFG is not exhibiting at this Canton Fair and has no booth. We are not an official Canton Fair partner. Visits to our Foshan office and showroom are independently arranged and require advance confirmation.

Canton Fair 2026 dates: which phase matters for clothing buyers?

The official autumn schedule for the 140th Canton Fair is:

Phase Dates in 2026 Relevance to an apparel sourcing trip
Phase 1 October 15–19 A different product programme; check the official catalogue before planning meetings.
Phase 2 October 23–27 A different product programme; it does not replace the Phase 3 clothing sections.
Phase 3 October 31–November 4 The main phase to investigate clothing, sports and casual wear, accessories and textile materials.

Check the official Canton Fair website for attendance information. The official Phase 3 layout lists clothing sections in Area A and textile raw materials and fabrics in Area C. Plan your route around the current layout rather than an older fair guide.

Build your shortlist around the garments you actually need

“Clothing manufacturer” covers very different production requirements. A supplier showing attractive shirts may not be the right development partner for a heavyweight hoodie or a jacket with complicated internal finishing.

Bring a brief for the products you intend to order, not just a brand mood board.

Product direction Details worth discussing with a supplier
T-shirts and polos Knit structure, fabric weight, neckline or collar construction, fit and decoration.
Hoodies and sweatshirts Fleece or French terry, hood shape, rib recovery, seams and wash behaviour.
Shirts, trousers and shorts Woven fabric, measurements, pocket construction, closures and finishing.
Jackets and outerwear Shell and lining, seam construction, hardware and evidence for any performance claim.

Ask what each sample demonstrates. Was it developed from a customer’s tech pack, adapted from an existing block, or supplied as a finished stock garment? Those routes involve different development work. A display sample alone does not establish ownership of a design or permission to reproduce its branding.

Six questions to ask before accepting a manufacturing quotation

1. What does the MOQ apply to?

Get the minimum written against the style and colour breakdown. An order of 200 pieces spread across four styles is different from 200 pieces of one style in one colour.

Ask whether the garment minimum also covers the chosen fabric, custom dyeing, printed artwork, labels and trims. A supplier may accept a small sewing order while a material or decoration supplier requires a larger purchase. Confirm what happens to unused material and whether it changes your quotation.

HaoboMFG’s standard starting MOQ is 50 pieces per style and colour, subject to fabric, design and production requirements. It is not a promise that every custom material or process is available at 50 pieces.

2. What fabric is the price based on?

“Cotton” is not a complete specification. Record the composition, target GSM, knit or weave, finish and intended colour. Compare an identified swatch with the garment reference; photographs cannot establish weight or handfeel.

Ask whether the quoted material is available stock or requires development. If a substitute is proposed, request approval before it is used. Matching composition does not, by itself, establish the same texture, drape or wash behaviour.

3. How will the sample become an approval standard?

Clarify who prepares the pattern, which measurements will be followed and how revisions are recorded. Ask what the sample fee includes, whether pattern or decoration setup is separate, and how another development round is charged.

For clothing sample development, the useful outcome is a garment and specification your team can review together. Fit comments, material changes and artwork revisions should refer to one current version. Agree how a pre-production sample will confirm details before bulk release.

4. Where will the work happen, and is there capacity for your order?

Separate the sales office, showroom, sample room and bulk production location. Ask which operations are handled at each site and whether outside processors are involved.

A headline monthly capacity figure does not tell you what is available for your garment. Discuss the planned quantity, construction, material readiness and production schedule. Ask when the quoted production period starts and what still needs approval before that clock begins. Do not treat a showroom appointment as proof of a factory inspection.

5. What will quality control actually check?

Ask to review the proposed inspection points: materials, measurements, stitching, decoration, finishing and packing. Establish the measurement method and tolerances for the garment, including whether dimensions are assessed before or after washing.

If your brief needs shrinkage, colourfastness or other performance testing, agree the method, conditions and acceptance criteria. Ask for relevant evidence rather than accepting “good quality” as a specification. Inspection scope, sampling arrangements and responsibility for correcting defects should be clear before production.

6. Are you comparing the same order scope?

Put labels, hang tags, packaging, size breakdown and delivery destination into every quotation request. Confirm which development, testing and shipping costs are included or separate.

Two unit prices are not directly comparable if one includes branded packaging and the other does not. Record open decisions beside the quotation so a provisional material choice does not silently become an approved production instruction.

Use a supplier meeting to resolve decisions, not repeat introductions

A useful meeting has a short agenda. Choose the two or three issues that could stop the project: an uncertain fabric, an unresolved fit, a complicated pocket or an unclear order breakdown.

Prepare a small review pack:

  • One current tech pack or a clearly labelled reference set.
  • A reference garment or identified fabric swatch, where available.
  • A size chart stating whether measurements describe the body or finished garment.
  • Quantities by style, colour and size, plus your delivery country.
  • Logo artwork, label requirements and a short list of decisions needing confirmation.

If you only have photographs, say which details are fixed and which need development. Ask for a written list of missing specifications after the discussion. This makes the next quotation or sample brief more useful than a general promise to “make the same thing.”

Planning a Foshan meeting during your Guangzhou trip

Arrange the appointment before adding it to your itinerary. Share your preferred date, group size and product interests, then wait for confirmation of the meeting time and address. Check transport arrangements for your actual departure point; there is no single journey time that suits every Guangzhou itinerary.

You can request a HaoboMFG appointment before, during or after Phase 3. Share the date you would like to visit, and our team will confirm the arrangements according to your request and company availability.

Leave enough room in your schedule to examine the samples and record decisions. If a follow-up sample needs additional sourcing or pattern work, agree that next step separately. A visit does not imply same-day sample completion.

What a HaoboMFG visit in Foshan involves

Our Foshan location is the office, clothing showroom and apparel development workspace. It supports discussions about designs, patterns, samples, materials and branded details. The areas available during a visit are confirmed in advance.

Our actual production factory is in Zhongshan. The Foshan showroom appointment is separate from that manufacturing location and is not a production workshop tour.

The Foshan meeting address is:

No. 27 Sanxiang Road, Dali Town, Nanhai District, Foshan, Guangdong, China.

Use the meeting to discuss the construction and fit of your intended collection, fabric options, printing or embroidery, and the information needed for sampling. Buyers developing branded garments can also review the scope of our private label clothing manufacturing service, including labels and packaging requirements.
