WHAT TO SEND

Start with the details you already have

You can send reference images, a sketch, an existing garment, a tech pack, measurements, target fabric, logo artwork, a size chart, or a mood board. A complete tech pack helps us quote faster, but it is not required to begin the discussion.

  • Reference photos or a physical sample
  • Garment category, size range, and target quantity
  • Fabric, color, print, embroidery, label, and packaging requirements
  • Target delivery country and intended launch date

OUR PROCESS

Clothing sample making: from design review to approval

  1. Design review
We confirm construction, measurements, decoration, and the practical production approach.
  2. Material sourcing
We recommend suitable fabrics, trims, colors, and finishing options for the requested look and budget.
  3. Pattern and first sample
Our team makes the pattern and produces a sample for fit, construction, and visual review.
  4. Revision and approval
We revise agreed details and prepare the sample standard used for bulk production.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

What brands usually ask us

Can you develop a sample from pictures only?

Yes. Clear reference photos, garment measurements, fabric preferences, and the intended fit give us a practical starting point. We will identify details that need confirmation before sampling.

Do I need a tech pack before contacting you?

No. A tech pack improves accuracy, but we can help organize the product details from a sketch, reference garment, or image set.

How long does a clothing sample take?

Sample development is generally completed within 15 days after materials and specifications are confirmed. More complex construction, custom fabric, or special finishing can require additional time.

See our clothing sample developers guide for the complete development workflow. After sample approval, continue to small-batch clothing production or explore the garment factory sewing process to understand how an approved sample guides bulk production.

Confirm your sample scope before development starts

Tell us whether you need a first development sample, a fit revision or a sample ready for bulk approval. We will review the available references and identify the measurements, fabrics and construction decisions that still need confirmation.

  • Agree the sample fee, material choices, decoration, revision scope and shipping separately.
  • Confirm whether technical files, patterns or grading are part of the requested deliverables.
  • Record approved fit, construction and finishing before requesting the bulk quote.

Our published starting MOQ of 50 pieces per style and color applies to bulk manufacturing, subject to style and material requirements. Sample quantities and development fees are quoted for the project.

Review the sample making process and approval checklist and the SHAKD trench coat sample case before sending your brief.

Agree the sample scope before development

Ask for the sample, pattern, decoration setup and courier charges to be listed separately. Confirm whether any amount can be credited against a bulk order; a credit is an agreed quotation term, not an automatic refund. Also agree what counts as a minor revision and when a new pattern or material requires another sample fee.

After a revision, approve the latest measurement file, fabric, trims and logo placement together. Confirm whether a pre-production sample is needed, particularly if the first sample used a substitute material. A photographed seam can show the sewing operation; the revision record explains the approved construction.

How the 50-piece minimum works

HaoboMFG’s current bulk minimum is 50 pieces per style and per color. Send the size breakdown for each color with your brief so we can confirm the cutting and packing plan. Sampling is quoted separately; you do not need to order 50 development samples.

FAQ

Clothing sample development questions

What should I send for clothing sample development?

Send a reference image or garment, measurements, fabric preference, color, artwork, quantity, and delivery country. A tech pack is helpful but not required to start a review.

How long does sample making take?

Sample development is normally completed within 15 days after design, materials, measurements, and decoration details are confirmed.

Can you revise the fit after the first sample?

Yes. Fit comments and measurement corrections are reviewed against the approved specifications before the next sample or bulk-production decision.

Can the approved sample be used for bulk production?

Yes. Bulk production follows the approved sample and documented construction, material, measurement, and decoration details.

How much does a clothing sample cost?

Sample cost depends on garment complexity, fabric, trims, decoration, and the number of development steps. We confirm the practical scope before starting.
